Donn King

Donn King is a professor of communication at Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville, TN. He has received the Excellence in Teaching award from Pellissippi State, and the Excellence Award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development.

Donn joined Toastmasters in 2001 and helped found Resource Valley Raconteurs Toastmasters Club, a club that primarily serves Pellissippi State and its community. He currently serves as its secretary, and is also active in its division and district. He has also been active in Toastmasters competitions, twice earning the top division title and once advancing to runner-up in the district in the International Speaking contest.

Before becoming a college teacher, Donn spent 10 years as a minister amid 20 years in radio, newspaper, and magazine work. He still writes as a freelancer and works with groups and individuals who want to communicate more effectively.

Donn offers topics in effective communication skills and how they affect business, career, and life in general. He also talks about the challenges and privileges of having a special needs daughter, offering support and encouragement to similar families and extracting from the experience lessons for life.
